Title: Lead Architect
Schedule (FT/PT): Regular Full Time

POSITION PURPOSE:Experienced licensed lead architect responsible for leading large-scale projects and programs. Responsible for the quality of work performed, managing project scope and budget, and maintaining client relationships. Serves as department team lead and ensures technical excellence and project delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Coordinate with team members to execute project scope, schedules, and budgets in conformance with the project and customer requirements.
- Research codes, guidance, policies, procedures, processes, criteria, and applicable laws and regulations to support technical recommendations.
- Apply innovative technical principles, practices, and theories to the resolution of technical issues.
- Perform field investigations, including the review of as-built drawings, to determine existing conditions, document findings, and provide a report to include written summary of observations, data collected, and photographs.
- Coordinate with clients, team members, leadership, project stakeholders, and various regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate and hold meetings, recommend requirements, coordinate workflow processes, schedule/coordinate plans of action and milestones and inform all personnel. Provide written minutes for meetings.
- Review technical reports, RFIs, designs, design changes for different project types, project deliverables, submittals, cost proposals from contractors, etc., to ensure compliance with client and RFP requirements
- Provide technical support for the review of the design and construction submittals, and construction and field observations.
- Oversee project team and incorporate initial design concepts provided by client into schematic design and subsequent design development to produce final construction documents.
- Provide technical support for construction field activities.
- Provide technical assistance for field investigations.
- Oversee calculations and reports.
- Document all project communications
- Participate in site investigations and client / user interviews to identify project needs, constraints and opportunities
- Use computer programs and spread sheets for engineering analysis and presentations.
- Responsible for managing team resourcing.
- Foster team member career growth and development
- Contribute to proposal development and review.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college curriculum in architecture or related field
- 15+ years design experience in architecture.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing correspondence, written reports and in briefing management personnel.
Skills and Abilities: - Demonstrated knowledge of broad-based Architectural and Engineering principles.
- Understanding of technical concepts, principles, and practices applicable to multi-discipline engineering project design and construction.
- Knowledge of construction practices and methods and construction management.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and verbally.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret contract documents.
- Ability to delegate tasks to others.
- Ability to mentor junior team members.
- Ability to design all components of a project.
- Ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
- Detail-oriented time manager with the ability to set deadlines and meet project schedules.
- Ability to maintain client relationships
- Ability to present projects and represent clients in public hearings.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
Special Requirements: - RA - U.S. Registered Architect
- US citizen, be able to travel, obtain a passport and/or security clearance, if required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic understanding of Revit and AutoCAD
- Master's degree in Architecture
- 5+ years management experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work generally conducted indoors in an office setting with occasional travel to project sites but may serve as a Field Engineer during construction.
