  • CT: $116,640 - $145,800
  • NY / ME: $106,000 - $132,500

Job Summary

The Projects and Processes Control Center (PPCC) organization is responsible for executing critical Operational Technology (OT), Control Center, and related grid modernization projects (e.g., near real-time operating control systems, next-generation AMI, data center construction, substation automation, AAR/DLR, DER aggregation) to help improve grid operations across Avangrid Networks. This Lead Analyst - Project Management Office (PMO) position within PPCC will help advance the organization's project governance, financial planning, and portfolio management, including by supporting projects' CAPEX/OPEX budget development and variance management, financial and regulatory reporting, long-term financial planning, and financial modeling.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain projects' financial structures and documentation (e.g., Work Breakdown Structures, internal orders, cost centers) in Company systems (e.g., SAP, Clarity)
  • Proactively monitor projects' financial performance, including tracking projects' variances and glidepaths, identifying offsets, identifying cost savings opportunities, and conducting trend analyses
  • Help project managers develop both detailed monthly project budget forecasts down to the resource level (e.g., internal labor, external services, materials) and post-project funding requirements
  • Develop business case and cost recoverability analyses for both active projects and initiatives in the discovery/initiating phase
  • Develop and maintain dashboards/tools and lead PPCC financial calls to effectively manage the overall PPCC financial portfolio
  • Prepare regulatory and corporate financial update reports and answer data requests under regulatory filings and audits as needed
  • Engage with Investment Planning, Control, Accounting, Regulatory, and related organizations to maintain project compliance with accounting principles (e.g., cost classification, cost allocation)


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Accounting with a minimum of 8 or more years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and payment and accrual processes required.
  • Experience developing financial valuations (e.g., net present value, total cost of ownership) required.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, Smartsheet), Microsoft Office, and SAP required.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving decision-making, learning new technologies and software, and building cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders required.
  • Experience applying accounting principles (e.g., FERC Uniform System of Accounts, U.S. GAAP, revenue requirements) to projects strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in electric and/or gas utilities is strongly preferred.
  • Related certifications (e.g., PMP, CPA, CFA) preferred.
