Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Lead AI/ML Engineer to develop and deliver AI powered Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions within a large-scale financial services environment. This role will focus on document classification, information extraction, and document understanding using OCR, NLP, Computer Vision, and Large Language Models.

This role is located at a client site in either Birmingham, AL, Knoxville, TN, Columbia, SC or Lafayette, LA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

CGI is seeking a Lead AI/ML Engineer to develop and deliver AI powered Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions within a large-scale financial services environment. This role will focus on document classification, information extraction, and document understanding using OCR, NLP, Computer Vision, and Large Language Models.

The Lead AI/ML Engineer will work hands on with Python, Java, AI/ML frameworks, and AWS services to build scalable solutions and integrate AI capabilities through APIs and microservices. The role will also support model deployment, monitoring, MLOps, and CI/CD practices.

As a technical lead, this individual will guide technical discussions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver reliable AI/ML solutions. Experience with mortgage, multifamily lending, commercial real estate, or broader financial services environments is highly valued.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 8+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years developing AI/ML solutions
. Strong hands on experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), including document classification and information extraction
. Experience applying OCR, NLP, Computer Vision, and Large Language Models (LLMs) to document processing and understanding
. Strong development skills in Python and Java
. 5+ years of hands on AWS experience, particularly with services such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Textract, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, and RDS
. Experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit learn, Hugging Face, and LangChain
. Experience developing REST APIs and microservices using Spring Boot, FastAPI, or comparable frameworks
. Hands on knowledge of MLOps, including model deployment, monitoring, versioning, and CI/CD pipelines
. Strong understanding of scalable software development practices, design patterns, and Agile delivery
. Ability to lead technical discussions and provide technical direction while remaining hands on with development
. Experience mentoring developers and collaborating with business, engineering, and technology stakeholders
. Financial services domain experience preferred, particularly in mortgage, multifamily lending, or commercial real estate (CRE)
. AWS AI/ML or AWS Cloud certification preferred

Desired Skillset:
Preferred Certification: AWS AI/ML or AWS Cloud certification.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $110,100.00 $156,700.00.
