Full Job Description
Position Title: Lead Advisor

Step into a Lead Advisor role where the leads are already on your calendar, the operational support is built around you, and your primary job is to build relationships and close business. We are seeking an experienced financial advisor to spearhead a growing Raleigh market for an established independent RIA specializing in comprehensive retirement planning, investment management, annuities, and insurance solutions.

This role will serve as a key advisor for prospective clients, conducting financial planning conversations, presenting strategies, and converting qualified opportunities into long-term client relationships. You will be supported by dedicated service, new business, marketing, and client engagement teams that handle much of the administrative workload, allowing you to stay focused on clients, strategy, and growth.

The ideal candidate is a polished, competitive, and highly relational financial advisor with a proven sales track record who understands both AUM-based investment management and annuity and insurance solutions. This person must be coachable, comfortable following a proven process, and motivated by the opportunity to help build a new market and eventually lead additional advisors.

  • Manage a high-volume calendar of qualified client appointments generated by the firm's marketing team
  • Partner closely with strategy advisors, client service and new business teams to deliver a seamless client experience
  • Present at educational and client-facing events, including occasional evening events approximately one to two times per week
  • Help establish and grow the Raleigh market, with the opportunity to mentor and eventually manage additional Lead Advisors as the office expands

Requirements
  • 3-7+ years of experience as a Financial Advisor within an RIA or similar financial services environment
  • Proven track record of successfully closing new business and developing client relationships
  • Series 65 license required
  • Strong knowledge of annuities and insurance products combined with an understanding of traditional AUM-based investment management
  • Comfortable incorporating annuities into appropriate retirement planning strategies
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
  • Self-starter mentality with a collaborative, coachable approach and willingness to learn and execute a proven advisory process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance license or ability to obtain one within 90 days
  • Experience with eMoney, Nitrogen, Redtail CRM, Charles Schwab platforms or similar financial planning and advisory systems
