Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Landscape Architect/Land Planner for Senior Project Management and Business Development in our Frederick, MD office.

 

This position requires ten (10) plus years of experience in landscape architecture, land planning, and site/civil design collaboration.  Additional experience is necessary with home builders and other development entities in the Frederick County, MD region to assist with business development, networking, and marketing to expand workload to our growing team.  The position requires subject matter knowledge of the Frederick, and surrounding, County development process as well as familiarity with the active home and site development companies in the area.  The ideal candidate will also be able to assist with the processing of entitlement documents with county and government agencies and be able to assist with approval of engineering plans needed to move a project from permitting to construction.

 

Individual will be required to self-engage and develop targeted marketing strategies to put Dewberry’s capabilities in front of all appropriate development parties.  Candidates will also work closely with Dewberry Project Managers (Planning, Engineering, and Survey), supervise internal junior staff, and  coordinate with agency staff. 

Responsibilities
  • Selected candidate will supervise a multi-discipline team designing and developing construction plans for site civil/infrastructure projects
  • Specific work may include, but is not limited to:
    • Client communication
    • Budget oversight and responsibility
    • Construction document (plan and specifications) and technical reports preparation and/or oversight
    • Engineering analyses and cost estimates
    • Quality control/quality assurance in order to deliver a quality design product.
    • Management of project team to bring project from concept, permitting, design, construction and post construction phases
  • Establish milestones and completion dates for projects and monitor progress for final evaluation of results
  • Other duties as required 
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban and Regional Planning
  • RLA/AICP in the state of Maryland
  • Ten (10) plus years of experience directly related to the design and execution of land development projects in Frederick, Maryland, greater Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC metro area preferred
  • Preparation of graphics, exhibits, and site/civil construction plans
  • Strong technical capabilities in various Software Applications including but not limited to:
    • AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat

Salary Range

The projected salary range for this position is $89,000-$114,000 annually in our Frederick, MD office.
