Landfill Operations Supervisor (C&D Facility)

Location: Chesterfield, VA

Compensation: Starting at $90,000+ annually (based on experience)
Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled operations leader to oversee day-to-day activities at a Construction & Demolition (C&D) disposal site. This position is responsible for coordinating site operations, ensuring compliance with environmental standards, leading field teams, and optimizing overall performance.

The ideal candidate brings experience from landfill operations, heavy civil construction, quarry/aggregate environments, or similar industrial settings, along with strong leadership and operational planning skills.

Core Responsibilities

Operations Management
  • Oversee daily disposal site activities including material placement, compaction, and cover processes
  • Coordinate inbound traffic, tipping operations, and material flow for efficiency
  • Work with hauling partners to ensure smooth site logistics
  • Monitor grading, drainage, and site capacity utilization
  • Track performance metrics such as volume, cycle times, and productivity

Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all permits, environmental regulations, and reporting standards
  • Maintain inspection logs and compliance documentation
  • Manage stormwater controls, erosion prevention, and environmental safeguards
  • Collaborate with consultants and regulatory agencies as needed
  • Lead corrective actions related to compliance issues

Team Leadership & Safety
  • Supervise operators, laborers, and support personnel
  • Set expectations for productivity, safety, and performance
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to all safety protocols
  • Support employee development and accountability

Equipment & Fleet Oversight
  • Manage usage of heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, and compactors
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair schedules
  • Ensure equipment readiness to meet operational demands

Customer & Vendor Relations
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors, haulers, and customers
  • Address service concerns and scheduling needs in a timely manner
  • Support overall customer satisfaction and site efficiency


Qualifications
