Technician III, Lab, performs tasks related to the completion of routine and non-routine testing within the lab. This includes, but is not limited to, the day-to-day process samples, QA/QC samples, and all finished product testing and certification.
What You'll Do: - Participation in the laboratory safety program
- Assist in the execution of all laboratory control testing and reporting
- Calibration and standardization of various test equipment and reagents
- Develops and maintains skills related to safety methods, SOP's, and LIMS system
- Monitors and maintains inventory of reagents and instrument equipment consumables
- Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work environment
- Routine testing of process samples and certification of final products

What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or other science related field with chemical laboratory program components.
- Completed college level General Chemistry series and Organic Chemistry series
- 2+ years of experience in the petrochemical industry
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to work
CompensationThe starting pay for this role is
$89,481 annually (before overtime) with a 7.5% annual bonus target.

The
Ferndale Refinery is located on Puget Sound in Ferndale, Washington, approximately 20 miles south of the U.S.-Canada border. Facilities include crude distillation, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation and hydrodesulfurization units. It processes a variety crude oils, including Alaskan North Slope, Canadian and other foreign and U.S. shale crudes, primarily delivered via marine vessel and pipeline. Within the refinery is a rail car crude oil receiving facility with a capacity of 30,000 BPD. This offloading facility, owned by Phillips 66 Partners, makes the receipt of additional crude by rail car possible. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. Other products include residual fuel oil, which is supplied to the northwest marine bunker fuel market. Most refined products are distributed to customers by pipeline and barge to major markets in the northwestern United States.
