LabCorp is seeking a
Genomics Data Analyst Supervisor to join our team atour facility in Durham, NC.
This office-based leadership role oversees a team of Data Analysts responsible for the interpretation and analysis of data generated by our clinical molecular laboratories in Durham, NC, and Westborough, MA. The team specializes in the analysis of genomic data from a broad range of molecular testing, including next-generation sequencing, Sanger, and MLPA assays supporting both molecular genetics and molecular oncology. The team works closely with the laboratory and the clinical directors to ensure high-quality results are provided to patients.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Job Responsibilities- Directly supervise data analysis personnel and provide day-to-day leadership and guidance.
- Ensure staff compliance with all regulatory, quality, safety, and departmental requirements.
- Review genomics data from NGS, Sanger, and MLPA assays and ensure adherence to established procedures and quality standards.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to improve communication, efficiency, and workflow effectiveness.
- Oversee the performance of testing activities related to the data analysis workflows.
- Investigate, perform, and evaluate troubleshooting activities related to processes and workflows.
- Revise, update, and maintain SOPs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement corrective or preventive actions.
- Support the data analysis components of validations for new test methods, instrumentation, reagents, and workflows.
- Participate in Quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 5 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- 1 year or more of molecular clinical laboratory testing experience
Preferred Qualifications- 6 months or more of supervising or leading a team
- ASCP or AMT certification
- 2 years or more experience with sequence analysis and familiarity with sequence analysis software.
Additional Job Standards- In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment
- Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
