Job Description:
- Manage chemistry Lab.
- Prompt analysis of raw materials
- partner with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality control to develop new analytical techniques.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and refine methods for the routine analysis of raw materials and finished products
- assume responsibility for the calibration, operation, and maintenance of all laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Develop and maintain a library of certified reference materials when such materials exist; develop a library of secondary reference materials when certified reference materials do not exist
-Implements Management of Change (MOC) and Manufacturing Process Experiments (MPE)
-Supervises and coordinates the activities of the lab staff to ensure assignments are completed in a timely manner; communicates and enforces various policies, procedures, and requirements
-Partners with supplier base to develop continual improvement/cost reduction opportunities; develops and maintains various processes related to cost reduction, product development, and continuous improvement

Education and Experience
- A Bachelors degree (preferably in Chemistry, physical science or engineering)from a college or university; Combination of education and experience preferred
- Previous work experience in Special Metals
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in analytical spectrochemical methods for metals
- Understanding and knowledge of analytical chemistry and quality systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications
Relocation is authorized for this position.
