About The Position :

The Ameren Missouri Key Account Executive is responsible for enabling our customers to thrive through transformative energy solutions. This happens by developing strategic relationships with customers (primarily large industrial and commercial) and gaining a comprehensive understanding of the operational objectives, business activities, financial health and strategic direction of selected Key Accounts to implement integrated business objectives focusing on improved customer services and enhanced profitability for both parties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as a main point of contact between Ameren and key account customers


  • Develop strong relationships with numerous levels of management within the key account customers in order to provide 24/7 service and support.


  • Investigate electric and natural gas service interruptions and provide appropriate level of details to customer on root causes, preventive measures and future expectations. Assist in coordinating maintenance outages


  • Provide key account customer communication and coordination of operations during system emergencies to minimize adverse business impact


  • Perform the duties of the Emergency Operations Center Liaison during storms or system emergencies when assigned


  • Analyze customer business objectives and operational improvement opportunities and work within Ameren to provide solutions.

  • Opportunities could include, but are not limited to:

  • Growth or expansion

  • Deliver key account customer intelligence to influence Ameren Missouri customer and operational strategy. Could include coordinating and leading meetings between customer and Ameren executives


  • Facilitate relationships to foster success on large Ameren construction and maintenance projects involving key accounts


  • Assist Customer Accounts with adjustments/estimation of account data related to stopped meters, billing errors, etc. Act as point person in metering or billing disputes


  • Maintain customer contact information and log ongoing activities, opportunities and data points in Salesforce


  • Promote Ameren Missouri Savings Programs, attend Ameren sponsored trade shows, training/certification, etc.


Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Major in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications, Accounting or related field preferred. Five or more years of relevant experience in utility, financial, customer relationship management, business development, engineering, accounting or related field required. Experience managing projects across multiple departments preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Proficiency with MS Office Suite of applications. Maneuverability within SharePoint site and Ameren customer portals, including Salesforce, preferred. Understanding of Ameren rates and Missouri's regulatory environment preferred. Knowledge in the basic concepts of electricity and natural gas. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, solve problems, analytical skills, make decisions and be proactive. Must be a strong communicator that shows attention to details. Strong presentation, oral and written communications skills required.

Additional Information

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:
$88,500.00 - $137,200.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
