JUVENILE DETENTION ALTERNATIVES (JDAI) COORDINATOR

DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Judiciary-Juvenile Probation

HIRING RANGE: $81,320 to 90,306/year based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

POSITION TO BE FILLED: ASAP

HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

LOCATION OF POSITION: Elkhart County Judicial Center

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Within county & state, with occasional out of state travel (please complete driving page on application)

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for coordinating and advancing JDAI and facilitating various JDAI-related meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Baccalaureate degree in criminal justice, human services, or a related field, with minimum two years' related field experience in juvenile justice and detention alternatives; or Associate degree in criminal justice, human services, or a related field, with minimum ten years' related field experience
• Thorough knowledge of juvenile justice and detention alternatives with ability to develop and implement programs, coordinate with JDAI stakeholders, and facilitate related training
• Practical knowledge of accepted theories, practices, and interventions for counseling youth and their families, with ability to apply theories and interventions to both family and individual circumstances
• Ability to compare/observe similarities and differences between data, people, or things, analyze/compile/classify/evaluate data, make data-driven decisions, and fabricate data to discover facts or develop concepts
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen
