The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Junior to Mid-Level Network Engineer to support critical national security network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will assist in the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of secure LAN/WAN environments. You will work alongside senior engineers to ensure high availability, security, and performance of classified networks, directly supporting mission-critical operations.
Responsibilities:
• Network Operations: Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Brocade).
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance utilizing enterprise management tools (such as SolarWinds) and provide Tier II/III troubleshooting support to resolve connectivity and operational issues.
• Security Compliance: Implement and maintain network security protocols, ensuring compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• COMSEC Management: Assist with the handling, configuration, and maintenance of cryptographic devices (e.g., KG series) and secure communications equipment.
• Documentation: Create and update detailed network topology diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration records.
• System Integration: Collaborate with systems administrators to ensure seamless integration across Windows, Linux, and VMware vSphere environments.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Education: BS Engineering or related field
• Clearance: Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of practical experience in network administration or engineering, preferably within a DoD or highly regulated environment.
• Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II compliance (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) is required prior to start.
• Core Skills: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
Desired:
• Additional Clearances: Polygraph is highly desired.
• Vendor Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA).
• Systems Experience: Familiarity with Active Directory and basic server administration (Windows Server/RHEL).
