Overview

What You’ll Be Doing This role provides full-stack software development support to a portal team, a high-performing Agile team responsible for delivering enterprise platforms and shared services that support multiple systems at a federal government health care organization. These solutions include content management, healthcare quality reporting, secure email services, and operational dashboards that serve a major federal healthcare organization.

 

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior developers, product owners, and DevOps engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications on cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop responsive and interactive user interfaces using Angular and React.
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and JavaScript.
  • Design, implement, and integrate REST APIs with frontend applications and third-party services.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain applications on AWS cloud services.
  • Work in Linux environments for application deployment, troubleshooting, and automation.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that follows established coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and help maintain application availability.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies.
  • 1–2 years of experience in full stack web development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins CJE) and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.
  • Comfortable stepping outside of their comfort zone to evaluate, test, and implement new technologies and frameworks.
  • Ability to independently research and recommend solutions that support continuous improvement, including new frameworks and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Passion for scaling software, ensuring high availability, and automating processes, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

The salary range for this position is$80,000 - $100,000. The actual salary will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
