About the RoleThe Process Engineer manages process improvements in support of site safety, waste reduction, quality, and productivity performance for our Leonia, NJ plant. This role leads and supports continuous improvement projects focused on cost reduction, increasing product value, and optimizing manufacturing processes. Working closely with production and maintenance teams, the Process Engineer analyzes process data, troubleshoots operational issues, implements sustainable solutions, and supports new products, equipment, and process initiatives to drive overall plant performance.
Your Mission- Support manufacturing and maintenance personnel as needed to resolve process, quality and machine issues
- Conduct process and product data analyses to routinely monitor process capability and maintain centerlines
- Maintain process control database
- Source new tooling and equipment; complete POs for approval
- C-BUM champion for assigned area
- Perform risk-assessment and management of change for new processes / machinery
- Recommend machine improvements or replacements based on data and experience (capital or expense items)
- Identifies cost savings potentials and implementation thereof
- Defines optimal process settings, and standardization across all crews
- Support manufacturing personnel in identifying root cause and developing corrective/preventative actions associated with both customer and internal complaints
- Assist with training production and maintenance employees on equipment use and function
- Support the commercialization of new products, processes and equipment
- Assist in the development of Work Instructions (WI)
- Travel to customer and supplier sites as needed
Your Profile- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline with five years' experience or over ten years' relevant experience
- Previous experience with web handling and converting processes, coating background strongly desired
- Previous experience in process improvement implementation (quality, output, efficiency, utilization, scrap reduction)
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS-Project, AutoCAD)
- Competence in use of statistics & statistically designed experiments (DOE)
- Familiar with 24 x 7 manufacturing environment/requirements
- Previous experience working with integrating electrical and mechanical systems and/or PLC experience (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) is a plus
- Six Sigma/Lean certification or Project Management Certification, a plus
- Previous experience working in a regulated environment (ISO, GMP) preferred
