Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain emergency lighting and other life-safety systems
  • Pull wire through conduits, walls, ceilings, and floors as needed
  • Install brackets, hangers, supports, and related electrical hardware
  • Connect, test, and commission fire alarm control equipment and signaling devices
  • Diagnose system deficiencies and perform repairs according to codes and standards
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and construction documents
  • Complete service documentation and communicate findings with customers and team members
  • Provide professional customer service while representing the company
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with regulations

About the Role
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Abbotsford, BC (and surrounding areas)

  • We are seeking a Fire Alarm Electrician to install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems and related life-safety equipment throughout the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland.
  • This role involves working at commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential properties, ensuring fire alarm systems remain safe, reliable, and code-compliant.
  • Daily travel to customer sites is required. We aim to assign work within a reasonable proximity to your home where possible; however, travel throughout our service area is required.
  • You will work independently and alongside other technicians, electricians, and project team members to complete installations, upgrades, inspections, service calls, and repairs.
  • We are open to both experienced fire alarm electricians and certified electricians looking to expand their skills within the fire protection industry.

  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations

Requirements
  • Journeyperson Electrician certification recognized in British Columbia
  • Experience installing, servicing, or troubleshooting fire alarm systems is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and fire alarm installation practices
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working at various job sites
  • Experience with fire alarm verification, programming, and commissioning is considered an asset
  • Experience using ServiceTrade or similar field service software is an asset

Schedule
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Overtime and emergency service calls as required
