Maintenance Electrician – JLL
What this job involves:
As a Maintenance Electrician at JLL, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of facility electrical and mechanical systems on 2nd shift. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with preventative maintenance responsibilities to support our client's operations. You will troubleshoot complex electrical issues, maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems, and perform essential repairs that keep critical infrastructure running smoothly. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your electrical expertise while expanding your skills across multiple building systems in a dynamic industrial environment.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical controls, switching systems, motor controls, and wire single/three-phase motors throughout the facility
- Run conduit, pull wiring to machinery, and troubleshoot electrical systems to diagnose and resolve malfunctions efficiently
- Monitor, repair, and maintain refrigeration, water cooling, air conditioning, boilers, and HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Perform preventative maintenance on all building equipment, recording readings and documenting system operations for compliance and reliability
- Install and rebuild pumps, motors, air compressors, and replace bearings, seals, and related components as needed
- Install and repair plumbing, piping, tubing, valves, filters, hot water systems, and associated controls
- Comply with safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and organized workplace
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC
- Active Michigan State Electrical Journeyman License (or higher)
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum 2 years of experience with electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in commercial or industrial settings
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong problem-solving abilities with proven capability to analyze system operations and determine root cause of malfunctions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master Electrician License
- EPA Universal CFC certification for refrigeration work
- Building automation systems certifications (BACnet, Niagara, or similar platforms)
- Experience with PLC systems and industrial controls
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work order tracking and completion
- Knowledge of emergency backup power systems and energy management programs
- Previous experience in commercial or industrial facility maintenance environments

Work Shift:2nd Shift (flexibility required for shift changes and emergency response)
Salary/Comp: $43.10 Hourly
