Full Job Description
GENERAL DUTIES

You will apply an understanding of DoD, USAF, and common engineering/scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future USAF and joint service weapon systems. You shall also assist in translating user requirements into weapon system requirements, which will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate weapon systems, subsystems, and equipment for eventual fielding and deployment. You shall additionally provide support to produce or review products that include the following: technical evaluations/plans; engineering studies, reports, and analyses; and acquisition strategies/plans.

More specifically, you will provide overall technical oversight and support strategic technical planning for all F-22 avionics systems; Manage all logical routings, resource utilization, system time, diagnostics, and fault detection; Manage all avionics interfaces as well as allocations of software to hardware; Manage the F-22 Design Model, including model integrity, standards, domain logical view and deployment view; Manage implementation of metrics/methods to assess avionics stability; and Act as Flight Clearance Technical Reviewer for mission systems avionics architecture.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of three years, with five years preferred, of Mission Systems Avionics Architecture (MSAA) engineering experience with the F-22 or other fighter/bomber aircraft in the modernization and sustainment phase of their life cycle. The experience shall include general electronics engineering, research, design, development, and/or testing of electronic components and systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use while employing knowledge of electronic theory and materials properties.
  • The Candidate must have successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree with a major in engineering from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program(s) for the degree requirements of the position (e.g., electrical, mechanical, aerospace, etc.). Degrees in engineering technology do not qualify for these positions.
  • An active SECRET security clearance, with ability to obtain SAP eligibility if required.
