Full Job Description
IT Team Lead I

Lead a team of IT resources in the tactical activities related to the design, development, testing and support of one or more applications or databases. In addition, responsible for establishing strategic direction. Understands team product offerings to effectively recommend solutions to customers, internal business partners and other IT associates. Possesses full technical knowledge of all phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. Maintains all internal team standards and ensures that team members adhere to these processes during all implementation and support activities. Participates in the creation and maintenance of pricing models used for estimating implementation and support costs. Participates in the recruiting and selection of team candidates. Provides ongoing performance assessment, feedback and coaching to team members. And communicates this to senior management as needed. Conducts performance reviews and other compensation initiatives. Prepares and delivers status reports to senior management and other project leaders. Acts as a project leader on internal team initiatives. Has budget responsibilities for their organization.
• Provides tactical management of work activities to ensure deliverable dates are met with quality work that is performed within a committed cost.
• Escalation point for the team and responsibility for providing communication of status to management and customers.
• Determines strategic roadmap and plan to deliver the roadmap for the organization.
• Builds and manages a budget.
• Designs solutions when necessary to meet the needs of the business, and oversees the creation and implementation of these solutions
• Manages a team of direct reports comprised of IT resources and teams
• Provides direction, motivation, training and decision support to project staff.
• Leverages the competencies of project associates to enhance project quality and accelerate results.
• Recognizes staff diversity, performance and/or personality conflicts.
• Assists others in the completion of assignments through knowledge sharing.
• Provides input into performance reviews of project team participants
• Recruits, develops, coaches and counsels subordinates.
• Proposes or refines IT standards, policies, procedures and methodology.
• Understands and promotes DHL's project lifecycle, concepts, principles and business processes.
• Applies broad understanding / knowledge of IT infrastructure components - e.g., networks, platforms and operating systems.
• Requires little day-to-day supervision from IT leadership.

Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, required
• Master's degree, preferred
• 5+ years experience in an IT environment, required
• 8+ years experience in an IT environment, preferred
• Relevant certifications (Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, etc.), preferred
