Job Description

SAIC is looking for an IT Systems Engineer to support our US Navy customer provide engineering and technical support for the CND Deployer Toolkit (CDT) and Defensive Cyber Operations Infrastructure (DCOI).

This position is located at NAVWAR Old Town Campus in San Diego, CA and will require up to 50% CONUS and OCONUS travel. Must be local to San Diego, CA to be considered

JOB DUTIES:

  • Support production integration, requirements gathering, system engineering, design and architecture, and self-service technology development.
  • Modify, implement, and integrate solution sets with appropriate DCO enclave technologies, conduct interoperability testing, and provide technical input for deficiency correction and production process improvements.
  • Support the documentation and maintenance of system baselines, leveraging Agile DevOps methodologies and modular software design principles to ensure rapid delivery of requirements.
  • Provide technical input for Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization tasks, ensuring compliance with applicable cybersecurity standards, including STIGs, Security Controls, and Navy Guidance.
  • Support developing Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), engineering drawings, test plans, and reports to support the lifecycle of CDT and DCOI systems.
  • Provide site survey and installation support for Sensor2 systems. This includes conducting pre-installation, site surveys to assess infrastructure readiness and operational constraints, followed by the installation of Sensor2 systems at designated locations.
  • Ensure all installations are performed in accordance with Navy standards and Fleet Readiness Certification Board (FRCB) processes.
  • Post-installation provide documentation detailing the installation process, system configurations, and any recommendations for future enhancements.
  • Provide technical solutions as they arise in the production lab or in production environments.
  • Provide patch management support to include testing patches (manually and via automated methods) in lab environment and document patches and provide technical assistance with issues with patch deployment to operational sites.
  • Provide sustainment and troubleshooting support.


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and two (2) years or more relevant experience
  • Requires experience with LINUX and Splunk.
  • Experience with Virtualization and Containerization knowledge such as VMWare and Kubernetes containers.
  • Pre/Post Scans, ACAS, STIG, etc
  • Creating test procedures.
  • Windows OS, Software applications Operating Systems and network experience.


Certification:

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+ required and OS Cert).


Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start
