Full Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented IT Specialist to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. This is a on-site position.

As an IT specialist you will provide direct support to the Advance Electronic Systems (AES) team and its customers. You will be the point of contact for all IT related matters. This can include helping set up hardware or software, diagnosing connectivity or data access problems, answering questions about hardware or software, and helping users access shared drives and devices.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Full Lifecycle Engineering (SDLC): Manage the complete system lifecycle across hull-type variants-from initial requirements analysis (RMF constraints, acceptance criteria) through secure decommissioning and DoD 5220.22-M data sanitization.
  • Architecture & Image Design: Design tailored system architectures and Secure Host Baseline (SHB) images utilizing MDT, Windows ADK, and Group Policy.
  • Automation Development: Build PowerShell scripts for automated naming conventions, policy enforcement (Edge, Windows Defender), and post-build validation.
  • Cybersecurity Compliance & Remediation: Implement DISA STIGs/SRGs using Evaluate-STIG and STIG Viewer; execute ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scans, patch management, and security remediation.
  • Testing & QA Validation: Lead comprehensive functional, security, and performance testing, validating DaRT recovery functionality and documenting results in configuration management records.
  • Deployment & Operations: Coordinate high-reliability fleet deployments with on-site/remote support, maintain steady-state operations (trouble tickets, vendor coordination), and author technical documentation like SOPs and Fleet Advisory Messages.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • 1+ year of experience working in a Windows based environment
  • Security+ CE certification
  • ACAS Operator/Supervisor training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with network topology documentation in air-gapped environments.
  • Minimum of 1 year executing full SDLC in DoD environments.


Clearance Requirements:
  • Current and active DoD Secret security clearance.


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet
  • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations


The projected compensation range for this position is $70,200.00-$117,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
