The IT Security Administrator is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's cybersecurity posture through monitoring security systems, implementing security technologies, and developing policies and procedures. This role provides critical support for enterprise security infrastructure, identity and access management, and network security while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. The IT Security Administrator collaborates with the IT team to protect company assets, data, and systems from security threats, supports end users, and maintains operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Create, maintain, and distribute security reports to identify vulnerabilities, track incidents, and measure security metrics
- Implement and manage security technologies including IDS, antivirus systems, firewalls, and other protective measures
- Monitor security systems continuously to detect, analyze, and respond to potential threats and anomalies
- Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and compliance requirements
- Administer Microsoft 365 environment including OneDrive, Office applications, Exchange Online, and related services
- Manage Azure Entra ID and implement Identity Access Management (IAM) practices to ensure appropriate user access and permissions
- Configure and troubleshoot networking devices including switches, routers, wireless access points, and controllers
- Maintain and troubleshoot servers, storage systems, and datacenter infrastructure
- Utilize remote access tools such as RDP and Endpoint Central for system administration and user support
- Manage helpdesk tickets using an ITSM framework, ensuring proper categorization, assignment, resolution, and documentation
- Document security activities, procedures, and configurations while providing training to end-users on security best practices
- Investigate root causes of security incidents and IT issues, thinking critically beyond surface-level symptoms
- Communicate effectively with various levels of management, peers, and end-users while maintaining professional standards
- Provide outstanding customer service and technical support with a positive, solution-oriented attitude
Minimum Qualifications- 3-5 years of experience creating and maintaining security reports
- 3-5 years of experience implementing security technologies
- 3-5 years of experience monitoring security systems such as IDS, antivirus, and firewalls (Palo Alto, Ubiquiti, Ruckus, etc.)
- 3-5 years of experience developing and maintaining security policies and procedures
- 1-3 years of experience managing Microsoft 365 (OneDrive, Office, Exchange Online, etc.)
- 1-3 years of experience with Azure Entra ID and Identity Access Management practices
- 1-3 years of experience troubleshooting and configuring networking devices (switches, routers, wireless access points & controllers)
- 1-3 years of experience configuring and troubleshooting servers, storage, and datacenter systems
- 1-3 years of experience utilizing remote access tools (e.g., RDP, Endpoint Central)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience utilizing the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) framework
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL, and TCP/IP
- Experience with Hyper-V virtualization (Preferred)
- Well-organized, self-starting, and attentive to detail
- Critical thinking ability to evaluate root causes beyond symptoms
- Outstanding customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to project a professional image and positive attitude
- Effective time management skills with the ability to consistently organize and resolve helpdesk tickets for reliable tracking and mitigation of IT issues
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to train end-users and communicate effectively with various levels of management and peers

Physical Demands and Work Environment- This position is primarily performed in an office and technical support environment, requiring prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and computer use. The role involves frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, and multiple monitors, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through electronic communications. Occasional lifting and moving of IT equipment, servers, networking devices, or related materials up to 25 pounds may be required. The employee may periodically access server rooms, datacenters, manufacturing facilities, or other operational areas where exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial environments may occur. Occasional after-hours, on-call, or emergency support may be necessary to address critical security incidents or system outages.
