Job ResponsibilitiesServe as manager of the Network Services Department. Direct departmental activities and decisions in providing management of the College's Data, Voice, and video surveillance network. Direct short and long term departmental plans. Assess telecommunications needs for all capital improvement projects. Direct the hardware and software installation, configuration, and support for all telecommunications and video surveillance equipment for the college including but not limited to routers, switches, wireless access points, WAN equipment, and VOIP equipment. Provide system and user documentation as needed by the IT staff or users. Provide usage reports to users and management on voice and telecommunications and video surveillance utilization as needed. Maintain an inventory of equipment. Coordinate with the construction manager for new construction or construction renovation projects that require network cabling or other network associated equipment such as Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Serve as primary support for the college's video surveillance servers and cameras.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsA bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, computer science (information technology), mathematics, statistics, management information science or a related field and experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
