About the Position
Department: IT
Reports to: Chief Technology Officer
Supervises: IT Specialist & Data Solutions Developer

PurposeThe IT Manager oversees and coordinates all technology-related efforts within the company, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of technology resources. They are responsible for coordinating product/service selection, setup, support, communications, and data protection to assist employees in completing their work efficiently. The IT Manager ensures the availability of up-to-date hardware and software applications while providing proper training to employees in their usage. Additionally, they play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining robust cybersecurity measures to protect the company's digital assets.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains IT asset information to ensure appropriate lifecycle management.
  • Coordinates purchasing new technology solutions including computers, servers, cell phones, software, etc.
  • Develops and enforces policies to allow for the most cost-effective use of existing solutions.
  • Maintains knowledge of current technology and stays abreast of new technological advancements to provide cost effective solutions for the company.
  • Maintains administration of all user IDs and passwords, grants clearance to systems and applications
  • Safeguards dealership technology systems through items such as acceptable use, password, and network access policies
  • Develop strategy for IT Security infrastructure to ensure compliance with industry best practices and standards, including ongoing security assessment and response, identity and authentication services, patch management, timely back-ups, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption tools, and other security technologies.
  • Assess the criticality of identified vulnerabilities within the Gooseneck environment and guide the remediation of these vulnerabilities to meet compliance and maintain a secure environment.
  • Installs all software, vendor, and pricing updates on all systems and coordinates the installation and set-up of all new equipment.
  • Conduct cybersecurity awareness training for all employees to promote a culture of security-conscious behavior and ensuring that employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining information security.
  • Provides IT support to employees in all locations by prioritizing, troubleshooting and resolving problems quickly.

  • Escalates technology installation and support issues to appropriate dealership, partner, and vendor personnel as appropriate.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintain a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.


Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Strong communication skills with ability to train others in technology solutions.
  • Experience with Cisco routers, servers, firewalls, and network technology.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Azure & AWS and relevant cloud technologies.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be physically able to perform minor lifting of equipment, climbing or crawling to install equipment and run cables and occasionally long periods of time sitting at a workstation.
  • Must be willing to travel to company locations.
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products desired
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Azure, AWS, or OSCP (Certified Security or networking specialty are highly desirable).
