Job Description:

The Senior IT Analyst - Technical Infrastructure and Test Cell designs, deploys, and maintains IT infrastructure and test cell solutions using current and emerging technologies. This role supports business operations by ensuring infrastructure reliability, security, scalability, and alignment with enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.

What You Will Do:
  • Manage small to medium-sized IT projects in partnership with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external service providers.
  • Serve as the IT liaison for manufacturing facilities, maintaining strong engagement with local facility leadership and providing guidance on issue resolution and shop floor technology solutions.
  • Evaluate and support integrated testing and acceptance activities for infrastructure components.
  • Partner with IT leadership and facility management to support enterprise IT security initiatives and compliance efforts.
  • Collaborate with global business partners, internal and external IT service providers, and senior leadership to support multi-site Test Cell strategy development and execution.
  • Support new business expansion initiatives across infrastructure, applications, and Test Cell environments for Lafayette Engine Center.
  • Maintain a prioritized list of business needs and requirements, develop proposals for new requests, forecast demand, and follow Caterpillar IT demand management and solution request processes when Caterpillar IT is the supplier.
  • Lead complex local infrastructure technology components supporting one or more applications, platforms, or systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, network, applications, and system-related issues.


What You Have:

  • Team Lead: Work with global business partners, internal and external IT service providers, and senior management through multi-site Test Cell strategy development and execution.
  • Maintain a prioritized list of business needs and requirements, develop proposals for requests, forecast demand, and follow Caterpillar IT demand management and solution request processes when Caterpillar IT is the supplier.
  • Lead complex local infrastructure technology components that support one or more applications or systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolving hardware, software, network, and system issues.
  • Lead new business expansion initiatives across infrastructure, applications, and Test Cells.
  • Evaluate integrated testing and acceptance activities for infrastructure components.
  • Partner with IT leadership and facility management on enterprise IT security initiatives.

  • Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming; ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.

Requirements Analysis:
  • Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

System Testing:
  • Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.

Systems Software Infrastructure:
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and system software interaction; ability to design and build a fundamental architecture of operating systems, database management systems, communications protocols, compilers, and other development tools.

Technical Troubleshooting:
  • Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.

Technical Writing/Documentation:
  • Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write documents such as training manuals, guidelines or documents on standards, processes, and procedures.

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $183,140.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
