IT Infrastructure End User Specialist to support a global manufacturing leader with IT infrastructure operations across facilities in
Greer and Greenville, South Carolina. This is a
long-term ongoing W2 contract opportunity with no defined end date. Candidates must be able to work onsite daily, with approximately
70-80% of their time in Greer and the remaining time in Greenville. This is
not a hybrid or remote position.The hiring manager is looking for a
senior-level IT professional who can work independently, take ownership of complex technical issues, lead infrastructure projects, and thrive in a manufacturing environment. This position combines hands-on technical support with project coordination and customer-facing responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a problem solver, and someone who enjoys supporting mission-critical manufacturing operations.
Work Environment This position supports both office users and manufacturing operations. Candidates should be comfortable working throughout production facilities, including supporting equipment in elevated locations when necessary. Because this role supports manufacturing operations, occasional after-hours work is expected during plant shutdowns and scheduled maintenance windows.
The standard schedule is
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, however
occasional overtime, evening, weekend, and holiday work is required. These maintenance windows are critical to production operations and should be expected as part of the role.

Position Overview This role is responsible for planning, implementing, supporting, and improving enterprise end-user infrastructure, including computers, mobile devices, printers, scanners, production equipment, and other workspace technologies. You will serve as a technical subject matter expert while partnering with internal customers, vendors, and IT teams to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient IT operations.
This is a highly visible role requiring both technical expertise and excellent customer service. Half of the position focuses on supporting industrial production technology, while the other half centers on project coordination, customer escalations, and infrastructure improvements.
What the Hiring Manager is Looking For The manager is seeking someone who brings a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership, manufacturing experience, and project execution.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Senior-level IT infrastructure or end-user support experience
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while taking ownership of technical issues
- Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial production environments (strongly preferred)
- Experience leading or supporting infrastructure projects such as:
- Windows migrations
- Hardware refreshes
- Technology rollouts
- Thin and thick client deployments
- Enterprise workstation deployments
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to interpret data and make sound technical decisions
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and the ability to drive projects through completion
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Experience managing customer escalations and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical users
- A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaboration tools such as JIRA
Primary Responsibilities - Lead the planning, implementation, deployment, and support of enterprise end-user infrastructure.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, scanners, cameras, and other end-user technologies.
- Support critical production equipment and industrial workspace devices used throughout manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and operating system issues.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for end-user infrastructure technologies.
- Support Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Teams, OneDrive, and enterprise collaboration tools.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in proof-of-concept evaluations and recommend new technologies.
- Coordinate vendor support and manage relationships with third-party technology providers.
- Support ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management.
- Lead lifecycle management activities including deployments, upgrades, patching, and equipment replacements.
- Document infrastructure designs, configurations, technical procedures, and best practices.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with global IT teams on enterprise initiatives and technology standards.
- Serve as project lead for small to medium-sized infrastructure projects.
- Mentor junior technicians and provide technical leadership.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Your day will include a mix of hands-on technical work and project coordination, including:
- Supporting production-critical devices including PCs, cameras, scanners, and other industrial technologies.
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues that directly impact manufacturing operations.
- Working in production environments where uptime is critical.
- Managing customer escalations and ensuring issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
- Coordinating infrastructure deployments and technology upgrades.
- Working with internal customers to improve workplace technology and user experience.
- Supporting planned maintenance during plant shutdowns.
Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field
OR Associate's Degree with two years of professional IT experience
OR Four years of equivalent professional IT experience
Experience Required: Industrial Work Technician - production devices - PCS, Cameras, scanners, make production possible - IP addresses, Windows, office, production environment (good with heights, productions critical role) 5+ years supporting enterprise end-user infrastructure
5+ years supporting Windows-based environments
5+ years providing customer support within enterprise IT
2+ years mentoring team members or leading IT projects
Manufacturing IT experience strongly preferred
