The City of Cortez is hiring an IT Director to provide enterprise-wide technology vision and leadership, ensuring City systems and services support strategic objectives and reliable operations.

Key responsibilities include:
- Set and execute IT strategy aligned to City goals; translate priorities into roadmaps and budgets
- Lead enterprise deployments across software, hardware, and infrastructure; ensure steady service delivery
- Oversee networking, cloud computing, data centers, and cybersecurity programs
- Manage vendor partnerships, procurement, and contract negotiations
- Mentor and develop a diverse IT team; communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field (or equivalent combination)
- 5+ years of progressively responsible IT experience emphasizing networking, cybersecurity, server virtualization, and IT operations
- Proven success delivering enterprise-level projects; strong troubleshooting and decision-making under pressure
- Valid Colorado Driver's license
