JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

The IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) partners with the Molecular Diagnostics Manufacturing and Operations Organization to fulfill application portfolio strategic objectives and business needs. The role supports successful, consistent, and predictable delivery of programs, projects, and applications for the Manufacturing and Operations Organization.

The IT BRM works directly with business clients to understand end-to-end business processes and translate needs into IT opportunities and investments. The goal is to enable and standardize business processes where applicable. The IT BRM partners with business stakeholders to align and integrate technology priorities with the overall business strategy.

What You'll Do

The IT BRM manages relationships with business clients by applying IT and business knowledge and experience to build business cases and identify requirements for process and technology solutions aimed at resolving business issues. The role works with Corporate IT Plan / Build and Support organizations to implement and support technology investments. The role requires knowledge of the software development lifecycle, Abbott Shared Services model, and the Abbott support resolution process.

The IT BRM is the primary liaison between IT and one or more of the following Molecular Diagnostics operational business functions:
  • Primary liaison for Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Distribution, Logistics
  • Secondary liaison for Commercial, Marketing, and Finance initiatives

In addition, the role manages a portfolio of tactical projects aimed at improving business effectiveness and may assist on larger projects with cross-divisional or corporate impact.

Support to the Molecular Diagnostics IT BRM Director
  • Financial planning and project budgeting.
  • Tracking business-owned and supported applications for SLC compliance.
  • Developing a long-range plan for future IT investments.


Education and Experience You'll Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Administration, or another discipline relevant to Information Technology or the healthcare industry.
  • 10-12 years of IT experience in a large or mid-sized multinational Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Diagnostics, or other Health Care organization.
  • Successful track record and experience leading teams with both direct and indirect responsibility.
  • Experience in setting IT strategy and business-IT alignment.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to multitask successfully across multiple programs.
  • Successfully managed a project portfolio with projects ranging from $1M-$10MM and/or operating budgets of $7MM-$12MM.
  • Proven experience and understanding of the complete software lifecycle, including privacy and security aspects.
  • Experience with vendor management.
  • Ability to collaborate with business leaders, understand business strategy and processes, and identify innovative technology solutions that improve outcomes for internal business users and external customers.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, including Division Directors and Vice Presidents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills, a self-directed approach, and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with, and knowledge of, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically SAP; Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES); and other relevant platforms.
  • Knowledge of Facilities, Utilities, and Equipment (FUE) and overall plant operations is a plus.
  • Experience working across business function domain areas, including Commercial, Finance, Customer Service, and Marketing.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategies and roadmaps.

The base pay for this position is
$129,300.00 - $258,700.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
