IT Business Analyst (Inventory Systems)

This position is hybrid working 3 days a week in our Legacy West Support Center located in Plano Texas.

About the role

The IT Business Consultant will have a good communication and documentation skills and have deep knowledge and experience of Inventory Management processes from execution through how these affect the retail stock ledger. The individual will work in a team responsible for Solution Design and Delivery that will include deployment of new functionality or changes to existing processes to meet the changing needs of our business.

Performs functional analysis, requirements definition and ERP module configuration and testing. Responsible for conducting prototype discussions, developing functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, setting of configuration tables and setting of transaction/control tables. Has a thorough understanding of the business processes and flows to enable the analysis of business requirements and development of solutions for the business functions. Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provides technical leadership and oversight for solution delivery flow (Business requirements validation, Solution delivery planning).
  • Assist in the development of conceptual systems architecture design and supporting technologies needed to enable new and enhanced functionality.
  • Identifies technical dependencies across several product and application teams to support the implementation of new or enhanced functionality.
  • Collaborates with Solution Architects, Product management, and delivery teams to reconcile user needs and requirements within given engineering constraints.
  • Identifies high-level requirements to support the definition and refinement of a robust testing strategy and supports the planning and execution of functional and non-functional testing activities.
  • Defines remediation tactics for large and complex defects impacting several features and/or capabilities within a given product or application.
  • Supports release planning activities.
  • Provides active support for business-critical outage situations.


Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

  • 5+ years working in a Retail/Omni channel environment.
  • 5+ years' functional design with large-scale applications. Knowledge of Blue Yonder systems specifically Blue Yonder Merchandising and Planning systems would be advantageous.
  • Understand inventory systems and transactions would be beneficial.
  • Understanding stock ledger would be beneficial.
  • Ability to write basic SQL queries and validate results.
  • Write process and system flows to support requirements documentation.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and produce consistent results with a minimal supervision.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, decision making, troubleshooting and resolution skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, is self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail oriented.
  • Good understanding of corporate IT policies, procedures and standards.

Working conditions & physical requirements

This will be a hybrid role required to be onsite at the corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and occasionally requires carrying, moving and setting up of computers, for example desktops, monitors, printers, and other small hardware in the testing lab.
