Overview

The Information Technology Asset Manager is responsible for owning and maturing the enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) program across ENFRA. This role oversees the full lifecycle of all IT assets—including hardware, software, cloud services, and related contracts—ensuring visibility, control, cost optimization, and regulatory compliance. This is a program-level role, not a transactional function. The IT Asset Manager will establish governance, define operating models, and drive cross-functional execution across Finance, Procurement, Security, HR, and IT operations. The role directly supports enterprise objectives related to financial stewardship, cybersecurity, audit readiness, and operational performance.

Responsibilities

1. ITAM Program Leadership & Governance

  • Own and mature the enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) program, including policies, standards, procedures, and operating model.
  • Establish and maintain ITAM governance structures, including charter, scope, and RACI across cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Define decision frameworks and accountability for asset lifecycle ownership across the organization.
  • Lead ITAM working groups and governance cadences to drive alignment and execution.

2. Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve processes across the full asset lifecycle: Plan 12 Acquire 12 Deploy 12 Manage 12 Retire 12 Dispose
  • Ensure standardized and scalable processes for hardware, software, SaaS, and cloud assets.
  • Establish controls for asset provisioning, redeployment, recovery, and secure disposal.
  • Implement reuse and reclamation programs to reduce cost and waste.

3. Financial Management & Cost Optimization

  • Partner with Accounting and Human Resources to ensure accurate budget alignment, forecasting, and cost transparency.
  • Drive optimization of IT spend through:
  • License and subscription management (true-ups, reclamation)
  • Vendor contract lifecycle and renewal planning
  • Total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis
  • Support enterprise cost allocation and chargeback/showback models where applicable.
  • Develop reporting for budget vs. actuals, savings opportunities, and cost drivers.

4. Asset Inventory, Data Management & Systems Ownership

  • Own the IT asset system of record, ensuring:
  • Accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of asset data
  • Integration with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, identity platforms, endpoint management)
  • Define and enforce data standards, required fields, and update SLAs.
  • Establish a single source of truth for all IT assets across the enterprise.
  • Drive continuous improvement in automated discovery and data reconciliation.

5. Security, Risk & Compliance Alignment

  • Ensure IT asset visibility and lifecycle controls support:
  • Internal IT governance policies
  • Regulatory and contractual requirements (e.g., SOC 2, CMMC, NIST, FAR)
  • Partner with Information Security to:
  • Maintain accurate asset inventories for compliance and audit purposes
  • Enforce asset classification and configuration standards
  • Support vulnerability and endpoint compliance programs
  • Implement secure asset disposal and chain-of-custody controls.

6. Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Partner with Accounting and IT colleagues to ensure:
  • Standardization of hardware, software, and services
  • Compliance with acquisition policies and approval processes
  • Maintain centralized tracking of:Contracts, service agreements, warranties, and licenses
  • Manage vendor relationships related to asset procurement and lifecycle support.

7. Reporting, Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Define, implement, and track key ITAM performance indicators, including:
  • Asset inventory accuracy
  • License compliance rates
  • Data completeness
  • Lifecycle timeliness
  • Cost savings and avoidance
  • Deliver regular reporting and executive insights to IT and business leadership.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across ITAM processes.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence

  • Collaborate with:
    • Finance (budget, allocation, capitalization)
    • Procurement (contracts, vendor management)
    • Security (compliance, endpoint governance)
    • HR (onboarding/offboarding asset workflows)
    • IT teams (infrastructure, applications, service desk)
  • Operate effectively in a matrixed environment without direct authority, driving outcomes through influence and governance.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

 Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, Procurement, or related discipline. Demonstrated experience building or maturing ITAM processes, programs, or systems. Strong understanding of: IT asset lifecycle management Software licensing and SaaS models IT procurement and vendor management IT governance frameworks (ITIL, ISO 19770, or equivalent) Experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Procurement, and Security teams. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

 

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

 Experience supporting audit and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, CMMC, NIST 800-171). Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as: Service management / ITAM tools (e.g., Freshservice or equivalent) ERP systems (e.g., Oracle E1 or equivalent) Endpoint management tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune) ITIL, Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), or related certifications
