The Attorney General's Office is recruiting for a permanent fulltimeIT Application Developer - Entry in the Information Services Division. This position is located in Tumwater, Washington, and is not union-represented.

The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Duties and Essential Functions of an IT Application Development - Entry

This position uses an agile development methodology, innovation, and creativity to complete assignments. The position provides analysis, development, QA implementation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for division specific and agency-wide, high risk/high impact, mission-critical custom developed applications, off-the-shelf software customizations, system integrations and databases.

The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrable technical problem-solving skills, the interest and desire to understand complex business processes and the desire to learn and grow as a software developer.

This position provides software development and maintenance for new projects and solutions, enhancements to existing custom software solutions, off the shelf software customizations and software integrations.

Specific duties include:
  • Provide software application development for performance metric tracking applications and approval workflows.
  • Integrate custom applications and data with other systems utilizing approved Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
  • Perform customizations and integrations with off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions.
  • Provide troubleshooting and bug fixes for custom developed solutions.
  • Develop dashboard/reporting platforms and associated Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
  • Perform testing and quality assurance for custom developed solutions.

Required Qualifications

Option 1: Six (6) years of professional experience such as analyzing, designing, and programming software applications OR a combination of education and/or relevant IT experience.

Option 2: An Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, and at least four (4) years of experience such as analyzing, designing, programming software applications OR a combination of education and/or relevant IT experience.

Option 3: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; and at least two (2) years of experience such as analyzing, designing, programming software applications OR a combination of education and/or relevant IT experience

AND

Additionally, provide proof of at least one year experience within the past four years, and demonstrate proficiency developing applications or other software solutions using the following programming skills, languages, software and programs:
  • ASP.NET or MVC, C#
  • JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Microsoft.NET Framework Libraries (4.0 or above)
  • SQL and Transact-SQL
  • Microsoft Visual Studio or equivalent
  • SQL Server Management Studio or equivalent

Additional Desirable Skills & Abilities

  • Version Control Software (Team Foundation Server, git, or equivalent)
