Position Summary

 

Tacten is recruiting for IRATA Certified Journeyperson Welders to support operations in Mt. Milligan Mine in Bulkley-Nechako, BC!

 

The ideal candidate is safety-driven, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced conditions, delivering high-quality welds while contributing to a strong team culture and operational excellence.

 

 

Position Details

  • Location: Mt. Milligan Mine - Bulkley-Nechako, BC 
  • Start Date/Duration: August 10 - October 3, 2026
  • Schedule: Projects 6 days on / 1 day off rotation - Day and Night shifts (12-hour shifts)
  • Hourly Rate: $47.50 - $59.50, depending on certifications and experience 
  • Travel & Accommodations: Flights and Camp accommodations provided!
Responsibilities Welding Operations & Fabrication
  • Perform welding tasks using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes.

  • Weld components in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions based on project requirements.

  • Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, and fitting components.

  • Set up and calibrate welding equipment, ensuring proper operation and readiness.

Technical Interpretation & Quality Control
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.

  • Perform welds in accordance with approved welding procedures and specifications.

  • Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Conduct required non-destructive testing (NDT), including visual inspection, dye penetrant, and magnetic particle testing.

  • Adjust welding techniques as needed to correct defects and maintain weld integrity.

Safety, Compliance & Standards
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to CWB standards, company policies, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Journeyman Welder Certification required
  • CWB-SMAW All positions Certification required
  • IRATA Level 1 Certificate required
