Job Responsibilities:
Missionof the Position:

We are looking for talented team members to be a part of a dynamic team looking to push boundaries, innovate, and are passionate about being a part of the transformation from traditional powertrains to eMobility.

The Inverter Engineer will be a part of development projects for electric machines for electric vehicles (and hybrid vehicles) responsible for the detailed design of power electronics, specifically high-power traction inverters. The engineer will develop new or modify existing products for new customer and/or internal product developments, following the defined product concept for eDrive products.

 

As an Intermediate level engineer, the engineer will work independently with limited supervision to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using knowledge and judgement to make adaptations and modifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for design, development, analysis, and testing of contorl components in the inverters for electric traction drives for eDrive applications.
  • Analysis and implementation of customer requirements and specifications.
  • Development and modelling concepts for the design of electronic circuits for electric traction drives.
  • Responsible for the implementation of electrical and electromagnetic simulations.
  • Responsible for commissioning and testing of electronic circuits.
  • Coordination of technical interfaces for the electrical components.
  • Definition of requirements and creation of specification sheets for the electrical components.
  • Coordination of the technical requirements for components with suppliers.
  • Development and implementation of ISO26262 methodologies providing the necessary hardware redundancy for safety systems up to ASIL D in collaboration with S/W and System engineering colleagues.
  • Cooperation with system development, electronics development, construction, testing, suppliers and scientific institutes.
  • Drive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce cost.
  • Develop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar preferred.
  • 3- 5 years of experience in ECUs development or other low voltage components (sensors, etc) for automotive applications.
  • Experience though the full cicle of product development with emphasis on design.
  • Experienced (including benchmarking) in the area of automotive electronics design.
  • Experience on the thermal challenges for electrical components and needed heat dissipation.
  • Excellent knowledge of EMI/EMC and the design rules to meet Automotive .
  • Experience with development and modeling of concepts for the design of electronic circuits for electric
  • traction drives.
  • Experience with development tools and methods for the design (LT SPICE, ALTIUM, etc).
  • Experience in commissioning and testing of electronic circuits.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the field of technologies for ECUs and control components.
  • High level of analytical ability, understand of engineering theory and principles of design.
