Base Pay Range:

$110,000-$130,000


As an Inventory Manager your essential job functions will include the following:

Manage Vendor Performance

  • Effectively manage purchasing and replenishment strategies for specified suppliers and Dealer Tire’s network of Distribution Centers.
  • Achieve targeted inventory related metrics such as, turns, in-stock, customer fill rates and unproductive inventory.
  • Prepare and conduct monthly collaborative planning, forecasting, replenishment and logistics meetings with assigned suppliers.
  • Develop purchase forecasts and collaborate with the supply chain to ensure projected demand is supported.
  • Monitor and ensure product availability for new SKU and vehicle launches.
  • Identify projected supply gaps and implement solutions to protect future availability.
  • Escalate critical supply issues as necessary.
  • Recommend and execute forward buy opportunities to protect availability and enhance margin.
  • Gather vendor and industry intelligence and share mutually beneficial information with internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute supplier operational strategies.

Manage Key Processes to Support Inventory Strategies

  • Determine and execute appropriate safety stock and replenishment strategies.
  • Review and adjust sales forecasts.
  • Manage the inventory transfer process.
  • Manage slow moving and obsolete inventory processes.
  • Analyze in-stock position and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Develop, execute, and track supplier improvement plans.
  • Identify areas of opportunity for supplier improvement and develop action plans to drive desired results.
  • Leverage data analytics to continuously monitor and improve supplier performance.
  • Perform ad hoc project management in support of organizational objectives.

Manage Associates

  • Motivate, coach, train, counsel and provide career development for each team member.
  • Determine staffing needs, interview potential candidates, and make recommendations on individual hires.
  • Communicate expectations and promote strategic vision to team members.
  • Monitor performance, conduct annual performance evaluation of each team member and recommend appropriate action such as compensation changes, promotions, counseling and termination.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in inventory management, purchasing/procurement, supply chain, or similar business-related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a purchasing and replenishment management role required.
  • Experience purchasing into a multi-DC national distribution network.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience in the following areas: MRP, DRP, S&OP processes, forecasting and production/inventory planning and scheduling.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, problem solving, relationship building and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power BI / similar platforms at an intermediate level, advanced level preferred.
