  • Provide operational support and performance reporting using established templates and BI tools.
  • Mentor Demand Planners by supporting onboarding and sharing best practices.
  • Oversee inventory optimization to balance service-level targets with cost objectives.

Job Title: Senior Demand Planner Department: Corporate Demand Planning Location: Lewisville, TX FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary The Senior Demand Planner owns demand forecast generation, forecast execution, and inventory optimization for assigned Standard Motor Products businesses across the Vehicle Control and/or Temperature Control divisions. This role produces timely and accurate statistical and collaborative forecasts in RELEX, during the transition from Logility, and JDE; prepares and leads demand reviews for assigned categories; analyzes business performance; and recommends forecast adjustments that balance customer service, inventory investment, and replenishment discipline. The role also sets and maintains safety-stock and replenishment parameters for assigned businesses. Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end forecast generation and maintenance for assigned categories and divisions in RELEX, during the transition from Logility, and JDE.
  • Analyze business performance and forecast variance (accuracy and bias); recommend and implement forecast adjustments and corrective actions within assigned scope.
  • Incorporate customer demand signals, point-of-sale data, and promotional/preseason activity - in partnership with Customer Collaboration (CPFR) - for assigned accounts.
  • Support new-product introductions, SKU additions, life-cycle transitions, and obsolescence in coordination with Category Management and the business units.
  • Manage forecast exceptions for assigned businesses; investigate root causes and escalate systemic or methodology issues.
  • Provide operational support to the planning process, including recurring category-level performance reporting using established templates and BI tools.
  • Serve as a subject-matter resource and mentor to Demand Planners; support onboarding, share best practices, and promote consistent planning discipline.
  • Oversee inventory optimization to balance service-level targets with cost objectives; review safety-stock and replenishment parameters.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for forecasting questions and data issues for the demand planning group and cross-functional partners.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analysis experience
  • Hands-on experience with advanced planning/forecasting systems and ERP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, emphasis on Excel and Outlook
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
