Base rate of $65.00 per hour, plus any applicable shift differentials

JOB SUMMARY

The Invasive Cardiovascular Technology Specialist assists in cardiovascular procedures in the Scrub and Monitoring capacity. INV-CVT assists team in providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice. Demonstrates competency in coronary intervention, peripheral intervention, electrophysiology studies, atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound, fractional flow reserve, and deployment of closure devices. Additionally, this position participates in unit committee and quality improvement activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Other duties may be assigned.
• Utilizes sterile process to assist physician during procedures, which includes all of the following: maintain sterile field, anticipate needs, and understand use and proper prep of invasive devices.
• Practices proper radiation safety for patient, self and others.
• Assist in patient care within scope of practice. Reports observed changes in patient status to cardiologist and RN.
• Practices safe medication administration during physician assisted procedures.
• Reports unresolved needs in reference to monitoring documentation prior to discharge from procedure room.
• Participates in pre verification checklist and time outs.
• Timely and accurate event documentation which reflects hospital/unit standards and includes procedure specifics (i.e. proc. Type, supply use, chronological entry).
• Knows the general condition of imaging and interventional equipment at all times, know how to operate all equipment required in the course of performing procedures. Documents failures in a timely fashion.
• Completes patient care assignments within the designated shift.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support quality patient outcomes.
• Populates required ACC data for required registries such as Cath-PCI and ICD.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Technology with 6 years of experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist and CCI certification (Preferably Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)) within one year of hire OR Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Technology and CCI certification (Preferably RCIS) within 90 days of hire OR satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program in an approved school, registered ARRT (R) and licensed as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the State of Florida.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 1 year of hire.
• IABP certification preferred.
• Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
