Job Summary and Qualifications- Demonstrates knowledge of sedation medication, reversal agents, and monitoring equipment in accordance with sedation policy and procedures.
- Demonstrate critical care skills and is able to assess and intervene as needed to maintain the patient's physiological homeostasis. Is proficient in administration of conscious sedation/analgesia and other medications as is necessary in the care of patients. Possess sterile technique skills as needed to be able to scrub minor cases.
- Responsible for patient preparation by having knowledge of patient's lab values, allergies and need for pre-medications or treatments, as well as patient's history. Be able to assist with equipment setup prior to procedures.
- Maintain optimal function of emergency support equipment and perform daily check and maintains log sheet.
- Coordinate scheduling and transportation of patients with other departments and with bed control, and be able to communicate specific patient needs in a timely and consistent manner.
- Provide patient education pre- and post- procedure.
- Perform all documentation in accordance with JCAHO criteria and nursing standards as dictated by hospital policy and procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of department computer systems including, but not limited to Meditech and PACS.
- Assists in the care and preparation of Interventional patients, competent in sterile technique, able to don sterile gown and gloves and maintains a sterile field for procedures.
- Fulfills on call/callback requirements as determined by department needs.
- Perform blood glucose monitoring equipment daily checks, perform environmental rounds and assist with room turnover between patients.
What qualifications you will need:- Required Minimum three years experience as a registered nurse.
- Required One-year experience in radiology nursing.
- Required Graduate of an AMA approved School of Nursing.
- Required Current Nursing registration with the State of Virginia or has a compact license
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
