Job Description:

The Interventional Radiology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) provides comprehensive care for patients undergoing diagnostic and image-guided procedures. The role supports procedural services, patient evaluation, and care coordination across inpatient and outpatient settings.
This position serves as an integral member of the radiology team, working under the supervision and/or collaborative agreement of designated supervising radiologist(s) to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while supporting procedural workflow and departmental throughput.

Responsibilities
  • Perform history and physical examinations, consults, and pre-procedure evaluations.

  • Review imaging, labs, and clinical data to determine procedural appropriateness.

  • Perform and/or assist with image-guided procedures (e.g., paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, lumbar punctures).

  • Place and manage vascular access devices, including PICC lines and central venous catheters.

  • Manage tube and drain procedures including exchanges and follow-up care.

  • Provide post-procedure care, patient monitoring, and follow-up coordination.

  • Assist in triaging and prioritizing interventional radiology procedures and workflow.

  • Collaborate with radiologists, nursing staff, technologists, and referring providers.

  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, risks, and follow-up care.

  • Support quality, safety, and efficiency initiatives, including throughput and turnaround time (TAT) improvement.
