Full Job Description
AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist to provide onsite services at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center, part of the South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio, Texas.

The Interventional Radiologist will perform a broad range of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with American College of Radiology (ACR) standards, VA clinical guidelines, and established best practices.

What You'll Do
  • Perform a comprehensive range of interventional radiology procedures, including:
    • Image-guided biopsies, drainages, and catheter placements
    • Vascular access and interventions, including angioplasty, stenting, and thrombolysis
    • Embolization procedures
    • Dialysis access management
    • Paracentesis and thoracentesis
    • Biliary interventions
  • Provide direct patient care and clinical management before, during, and following procedures.
  • Complete consultations, procedures, reports, and required documentation accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Document patient care in the VA's electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Communicate results, treatment recommendations, and care plans effectively with patients and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Collaborate closely with VA physicians, residents, nurses, and other clinical professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with VA policies and directives, HIPAA requirements, patient privacy regulations, and ACR practice standards.
  • Provide backup coverage as needed to support continuity of patient care.

Schedule
  • Regular hours are Mon-Fri 7am-4pm
  • Ability to participate in off-hours on-call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Respond to calls within 15 minutes.
    • Report onsite within 60 minutes when required.

What We're Looking For
  • Board Certification in Interventional Radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency across a broad range of interventional radiology procedures.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to successfully complete AMI's credentialing process.
