BPM is seeking an experienced International Tax Supervisor to join our growing International Tax Practice. This Canada-based role offers the opportunity to work with U.S.-based clients with international operations, helping them navigate complex cross-border tax compliance, reporting, and consulting matters. Position Summary:
As an International Tax Supervisor, you will work closely with Managers, Directors, and Partners to deliver international tax compliance and consulting services to a diverse client base. You will oversee engagements, review work prepared by team members, mentor junior staff, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients with global operations.
Note: This is a Canada-based role supporting U.S.-based clients with international operations. To be considered, candidates must have experience working with U.S. tax laws, compliance, and international tax matters.
Responsibilities:
3 Manage and review international tax compliance engagements for U.S.-based clients with foreign operations.
3 Review U.S. international information returns, including:
3 Forms 5471
3 Forms 8858
3 Forms 8865
3 Other international reporting requirements
3 Research and analyze international tax issues involving cross-border transactions, foreign entities, tax treaties, and global business structures.
3 Coordinate U.S. tax requirements with foreign jurisdiction tax considerations.
3 Support clients with international tax planning and consulting projects.
3 Review work prepared by Associates and Seniors and provide technical guidance and coaching.
3 Manage multiple engagements, budgets, and deadlines while maintaining high-quality client service.
3 Develop and maintain strong client relationships by serving as a trusted point of contact.
3 Stay current on changes in U.S. international tax legislation and regulations.
3 Collaborate with team members across the United States and internationally to deliver integrated client solutions.
3 Assist with business development initiatives and contribute to the growth of the International Tax practice.
Requirements:
3 Bachelors degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
3 CPA, Canadian CPA, EA, or progress toward a professional designation preferred.
3 5+ years of public accounting tax experience with a focus on international taxation.
3 Experience serving U.S.-based clients with cross-border operations.
3 Strong background in U.S. international tax compliance and reporting.
3 Experience preparing and/or reviewing Forms 5471, 8858, and 8865. [Prescreen...Supervisor | Word]
3 Knowledge of multinational corporate structures and U.S. international tax concepts.
3 Experience working with foreign entities, cross-border transactions, and international reporting requirements.
3 Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
3 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3 Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining exceptional client service.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 Experience with U.S. international tax concepts such as foreign tax credits, Subpart F income, GILTI, FDII, and tax treaty analysis.
3 Experience in a Big Four or large public accounting environment.
3 Experience mentoring and developing junior professionals.
3 Exposure to international tax planning, structuring, and consulting projects.
3 French language proficiency is a plus but not required

$123,000 - $162,000 a year
This compensation range provided is intended for candidates in Ontario, Canada, who meet the requirements of the position. Candidates who do not reside in Ontario, do not meet the minimum requirements, or exceed the requirements are encouraged to apply and a recruiter will provide you with a range specific to your location and qualifications.
In accordance with Ontarios pay transparency legislation, the posted compensation range, if applicable, will reflect the scope and responsibilities associated with the role. Positions supporting clients across multiple jurisdictions involve additional regulatory considerations, cross-border coordination, and broader compliance requirements compared to roles focused on a single local market. Hours of work and travel expectations may vary based on role scope and are considered in determining compensation. These factors, along with credential requirements and market benchmarks, are incorporated into compensation ranges to ensure alignment with industry standards and the specialized expertise required. Compensation includes base salary and any non-discretionary bonuses or commissions. If the top of the compensation range exceeds $200,000 annually, specific details will be provided during the recruitment process instead of being posted, in compliance with legislation.
