About the role

Affirm is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager to lead the design, consulting, and governance of our Internal Events function within the broader Places & Experiences team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Events, this role will be responsible for building and scaling Affirm's event design and execution practice, helping teams across the company create intentional, high-impact experiences that strengthen connection, collaboration, learning, and culture in a remote-first environment.

This leader will transform Internal Events from a primarily execution-focused function to a proactive strategic partner, establishing frameworks, standards, and best practices that guide how teams gather across Affirm. They will lead a team of Event Leads while partnering closely with the Internal Events Logistics team to deliver consistent, scalable, and high-quality experiences across the company.
What you'll do
  • Own the event design strategy and consulting model for Internal Events, establishing how teams plan, design, and evaluate in-person and virtual experiences across Affirm.
  • Partner with business leaders to translate gathering objectives into intentional event formats, experiences, and engagement strategies that drive meaningful outcomes.
  • Develop and implement scalable event frameworks, standards, and planning methodologies that improve consistency, quality, and effectiveness across all event types.
  • Establish governance and best practices for department offsites, leadership gatherings, onboarding programs, training events, regional programming, and company-wide experiences.
  • Drive consistency in event quality, attendee experience, and budget discipline through structured planning processes and decision-making frameworks.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and stakeholders, influencing event strategy, agenda design, attendee engagement, and overall experience architecture.
  • Identify opportunities to improve how teams gather by introducing innovative formats, facilitation approaches, and industry best practices.
  • Establish and track key performance metrics related to event effectiveness, attendee experience, budget stewardship, and program impact.
  • Build and manage a portfolio view of Internal Events, creating visibility into planned experiences, resource allocation, and strategic priorities.
  • Partner closely with the Internal Events logistics team to ensure seamless execution while maintaining clear ownership between experience design and event delivery.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support company priorities.
  • Lead and develop a team of Event Leads, setting priorities, coaching team members, and building a high-performance event design function.

What we look for
  • 8+ years of experience in event management, experience design, organizational development, consulting, hospitality, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of people management experience with a demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Experience designing and leading complex events, offsites, leadership meetings, learning programs, or large-scale employee experiences.
  • Experience building programs, frameworks, or operating models from the ground up.
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence leaders and guide decision-making across multiple functions and levels.
  • Demonstrate ability to translate business objectives into engaging and impactful experiences.
  • Experience balancing employee experience, operational feasibility, and budget stewardship when making recommendations and decisions.
  • Strong project management and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure, standards, and processes in a growing organization.
  • Experience working in remote-first, distributed, or high-growth environments is preferred.


Base Pay Grade - K
Equity Grade - 5

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).

CAN base pay range per year: $112,000 - $172,000
