The Opportunity:Tetra Tech is adding an
Intermediate or Senior Civil Technician/Technologist to our
Western Canada Engineering team based in
Terrace, BC. This position is based in Terrace, BC.; however,
we welcome applications from qualified candidates outside the area and are prepared to offer relocation support for the successful candidate.
Your Role:- Working on municipal, commercial and industrial projects in both a field and laboratory environment.
- Construction supervision of civil, geotechnical and material engineering projects.
- Performing field and laboratory testing of soil, aggregates, and concrete including evaluation and reporting of properties and characteristics.
- Assisting in providing inspection, and quality control and assurance on a variety of projects.
- Assisting in preparation of field and testing reports.
- Construction survey for a variety of projects, including familiarity with drone technology.
- Manage projects from proposal through completion, including scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Assist with the preparations of engineering reports, designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and proposals.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.
- Collaborate with Tetra Tech's multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
Qualifications:- Graduated from a Civil Engineering Technology program.
- 7 years of experience minimum.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and must provide current drivers abstract.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients is a mandatory requirement.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and listening skills.
- Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute as a team player.
- Strong project management and client relationship experience.
- Experience with municipal infrastructure, land development, roads, drainage, and water/wastewater projects.
- Experience preparing proposals and supporting business development.
- Proficiency with Civil 3D and related design software is considered an asset.
- Experience working with First Nations, Indigenous communities, or rural municipalities is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Local to Northwest B.C. is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required to project sites in Northwest B.C.
