Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding an Intermediate or Senior Civil Technician/Technologist to our Western Canada Engineering team based in Terrace, BC. This position is based in Terrace, BC.; however, we welcome applications from qualified candidates outside the area and are prepared to offer relocation support for the successful candidate.

Your Role:
  • Working on municipal, commercial and industrial projects in both a field and laboratory environment.
  • Construction supervision of civil, geotechnical and material engineering projects.
  • Performing field and laboratory testing of soil, aggregates, and concrete including evaluation and reporting of properties and characteristics.
  • Assisting in providing inspection, and quality control and assurance on a variety of projects.
  • Assisting in preparation of field and testing reports.
  • Construction survey for a variety of projects, including familiarity with drone technology.
  • Manage projects from proposal through completion, including scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Assist with the preparations of engineering reports, designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and proposals.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Tetra Tech's multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.


Qualifications:
  • Graduated from a Civil Engineering Technology program.
  • 7 years of experience minimum.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and must provide current drivers abstract.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients is a mandatory requirement.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and listening skills.
  • Good time management skills, the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to contribute as a team player.
  • Strong project management and client relationship experience.
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure, land development, roads, drainage, and water/wastewater projects.
  • Experience preparing proposals and supporting business development.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D and related design software is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with First Nations, Indigenous communities, or rural municipalities is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Local to Northwest B.C. is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required to project sites in Northwest B.C.
