Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or relevant diploma; EIT or professional engineering registration in Canada is a plus.
• 5 - 10 years of experience in civil/hydrotechnical engineering, with a focus on water resource projects and dams preferred; new graduates with relevant coursework are also encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in civil and hydrotechnical fundamentals, including hydrology assessment and hydraulic design, along with knowledge of HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, MS Excel, GIS, AutoCAD, and Civil3D.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience in writing reports and technical memos is essential for clear project documentation.
• Exceptional organizational skills are necessary for managing multiple tasks and ensuring project success on time and within budget.
• Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality projects, meeting deadlines and budgets indicates reliability and capability.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team; strong teamwork and shared leadership skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site-specific hydrological assessments to inform project design.
• Develop hydrodynamic models that address project requirements.
• Create comprehensive technical solutions covering assessment, design, evaluation, and construction for water resource structures.
• Generate technical letters, reports, quality control documents, and project deliverables for documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical design, operational, and construction issues to ensure project milestones are met.
• Prepare detailed project drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and operational plans to guide project execution.
• Maintain quality checks for designs and calculations to uphold standards throughout the project lifecycle.
