As an Intermediate Highway Designer/Engineer, you'll take ownership of complex projects, collaborate with top-tier professionals, and gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies. Your Impact
  • Lead Technical Delivery: Ensure the successful design of highways and drainage systems using advanced tools like OpenRoads, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, and more
  • Field Engagement: Participate in site visits to assess and document existing conditions
  • Design & Analysis: Prepare alignments, geometrics, cost estimates, quantity calculations, technical reports, and memos
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Coordinate design inputs from multiple teams for seamless project execution
  • Project Planning: Develop level-of-effort estimates, contribute to design schedules, and assist with construction timelines
  • Proposal Support: Provide input for proposals and contribute to innovation and "Future Ready" initiatives
  • Quality Assurance: Review and check designs and drawings for accuracy and compliance
  • Mentorship: Guide and support junior team members to foster growth and excellence
  • Client Interaction: Attend technical meetings, prepare presentations, and document meeting minutes


The skills that set you apart
  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in highway/roadway design (MTO projects preferred)
  • P.Eng or Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist designation (an asset)
  • Experience with Design-Build/P3 projects (an asset)
  • Knowledge of Ontario environmental standards, guidelines, and design manuals
  • Familiarity with OpenRoads and MTO CPS/HICO (an asset)
  • BIM experience (an asset)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Valid G driver's license (an asset)


Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89 800 - $118 900
MB & ON: $81 900 - $112 800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $81 100 - $107 700
