Responsibilities

  • Prepare EP Cost Reports and Spend Profiles

  • Calculate engineering accruals and analyze variances
  • Conduct cost variance analysis
  • Set up and update timesheet codes and budgets
  • Perform Earned Value management reporting
  • Collaborate with Estimating, Supply Chain, and Accounting
  • Perform ad-hoc project analyses and support
  • Manage large databases and generate reports
  • Complete additional duties as requested

Full Job Description
What You Would Do in This RoleThe Intermediate Cost Control Analyst is responsible for providing cost control, project change management, progress and performance, forecasting and reporting on multiple projects with focus on timeliness and accuracy. Reporting to the Lead of Project Controls, you will also be supporting the Project Manager and liaising as required with the client, engineering disciplines and project team members. Duties will include:
  • Preparing EP Cost Reports and Spend Profiles
  • Monitoring commitments, incurred and actual costs
  • Change management development and reporting
  • Manpower reporting and updating forecasts
  • Calculating Engineering Accruals and analysis of variances
  • Performing cost variance analysis
  • Setup and updating Timesheet codes and approved budgets
  • Earned Value management reporting
  • Collaborate with other disciplines including Estimating, Supply Chain Management and Accounting
  • Performing ad-hoc project analysis and support
  • Managing large databases and generating reports
  • Performing other duties as requested


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (commerce, engineering, or similar)
  • Three to five years of Project Controls experience
  • Understanding of project cost control fundamentals with analytical skills and experience in financial analysis, modeling and budgeting methodologies
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data
  • Exceptional MS Excel skills to analyze and interpret complex data
  • Quality focused with acute attention to detail
  • A self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and influencing skills


Preferred
  • Working knowledge of EcoSys and Excel Power Pivots
  • Graduate degree in a related field (commerce, engineering, or similar)
  • Background in oil and gas industry
