The Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities team is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Services Principal Specialist to support hardware and software integration activities for the family of Patriot programs, including both development and fielded Patriot equipment within the Andover-based Patriot Labs. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge missile defense technologies in a collaborative and innovative environment.

What You Will Do
  • Support Testing Efforts: Provide technical operations and maintenance support for Patriot System hardware and software within a laboratory environment. Assist lab users in preparing for and conducting test events.
  • Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and system issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Drive Performance: Collaborate across functions to support the successful technical execution of complex integration and test events.
  • Integrate Systems: Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems in both field test and hardware-in-the-loop environments, evaluating system functionality and overall impact.
  • Collaborate: Partner with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
  • Support Missions: Demonstrate flexibility, responsiveness, and strong problem-solving skills to accommodate user requests while balancing daily PTFA-required activities.
  • Travel: Travel up to 10% as needed to support mission execution at White Sands Missile Range.


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience working within a test facility, depot, field, and/or engineering lab.


Qualifications We Prefer
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance
  • Familiarity with Patriot Technical Manuals and Patriot Maintenance Control System diagnostic software
  • Experience identifying and troubleshooting hardware issues, with clear documentation of all actions and steps taken; excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with mechanical tools (e.g., power tools, hand tools)
  • Experience troubleshooting issues within Windows and Linux systems

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
