Summary: The Internet/Intranet Administrator is responsible for ensuring the control, integrity, and accessibility of the enterprise's Internet/Intranet infrastructure. This role involves managing change procedures for installations, upgrades, and enhancements, and maintaining system documentation. The administrator proactively checks system components for errors and applies corrective actions while designing and administering firewalls to prevent unauthorized access.
Responsibilities:- Ensure control, integrity, and accessibility of Internet/Intranet infrastructure.
- Manage change procedures for installation and testing of upgrades and enhancements.
- Perform initial installations and subsequent updates or patches.
- Prepare comprehensive system documentation.
- Conduct proactive, regular system checks for errors and apply corrective actions.
- Set up and maintain Web servers.
- Design, develop, and administer firewalls to prevent unauthorized access.
- Provide technical support to internal users and external customers.
- Troubleshoot problems and take timely corrective actions.
Required Skills:- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of IT work experience with Web-related software, hardware, and systems administration.
- Intermediate professional level expertise in managing small to large, moderately complex Web sites.
- Experience working in multi-platform environments.
- Proficient in Internet/Web security and associated application requirements.
- Ability to coach junior technical staff.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
