Job Summary:The Instrumentation CSU Engineer (Field) executes pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of field instrumentation and control valves during the transition of the semiconductor fabrication facility from construction to operations. The role performs hands-on field commissioning safely and to design intent, driving systems to turnover and supporting tool-install readiness.
Executes the assigned CSU field scope for field instrumentation and control valves under the direction of the cognizant Lead CSU Engineer, per approved procedures and test packages - including walkdowns, testing, results capture, deficiency identification, and support of system turnover.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. #LI-MJ1
Major Responsibilities:- Calibrate and verify field instruments - pressure, flow, level, and temperature transmitters, gauges, and analyzers - against traceable standards.
- Perform loop checks from field device through I/O to the control system; verify scaling and engineering units.
- Stroke and verify control valves, dampers, and actuators, including fail-safe positions and limit switches.
- Commission analytical instruments and verify associated sample systems.
- Verify device-level alarms, interlocks, and trip functions.
- Document calibration certificates and loop status; resolve instrument deficiencies.
- Support point-to-point checkout with the controls/ICS team.
- Walk down systems against P&IDs and design drawings to verify construction completion and readiness for testing.
- Identify, document, and track punch-list items and deficiencies to closure.
- Work under approved procedures and test packages; enforce safe systems of work (LOTO, energization permits, SIMOPS).
- Maintain commissioning records and system status, support turnover (green tag to blue tag), and coordinate with construction, engineering, vendors, and client.
- Ensure adherence to project safety requirements, electrical safety protocols, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, test scripts, and acceptance criteria in alignment with project requirements
- Review and interpret P&ID's, control drawings, control schematics, and project specifications
- Perform functional testing, performance verification, and troubleshooting of control systems to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate with Commissioning Team, Design Engineers, Construction teams, vendors, and owner representatives to resolve technical issues.
- Scoping project drawings
- Complete the RASCI Matrix
- Supports reviews of performance curves, metrics, trackers, and feedback to show trends, and use in improvements.
Education and Experience Requirements:- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
- Minimum of 10 years of commissioning and start-up experience in industrial, high-tech, or cleanroom facilities.
Required Knowledge and Skills:- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills for coordination with engineering, operations, and client teams.
- Experience with Commissioning Software (Smart Completions) and/or Digital Software.
- Experience in Commissioning or a technical consulting field such as facility design, engineering, construction management or related area.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills with a focus on mentorship and accountability.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE Guidelines and Standards.
- Identifies owner's goals, needs, and expectations for building operation and function; identifies the Commissioning responsibilities.
- Leadership or Supervisory experience, ideally leading a Construction Automation Team on a Bechtel jobsite.
- Experience with or exposure to Hexagon's Smart Completions Software.
- Familiarity with semiconductor facility standards and critical power.
- Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Hands-on commissioning and start-up experience in the relevant discipline.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and design drawings.
- Working knowledge of CSU test packages, checklists, and system turnover.
- Strong commitment to safe systems of work, including LOTO and energization permitting.
- Good communication and coordination skills in a fast-paced field environment.
- Familiarity with DCS/PLC/SCADA/BMS integration, loop tuning, and FAT/SAT; instrument calibration traceability per ISA standards.
