Wood is recruiting for an E&I Designer to join its Oil & Gas business in the Greer, SC area. The selected candidate will work as a member of the Project Engineering group and ensure assigned project goals and objectives are achieved. No outside agencies. #LI-Onsite As an E&I Designer, you will be responsible for producing facility designs and layouts with knowledge of structural, mechanical, controls, and electrical equipment systems. You will perform design tasks for purchasing and construction-level drawings, create reliable CAD models with precision, and develop and improve department practices/standards. Your role will involve conducting design reviews and traveling to job sites as required. Responsibilities Key responsibilities: - Produce facility designs and layouts with knowledge of structural, mechanical, controls, and electrical equipment systems - Understand codes applicable to equipment and construction (NEC, IEC, ASME, AISC, AWS, OSHA, NFPA, local codes, MCBU standards, and Mitsubishi Engineering Standards) - Perform design tasks for purchasing and construction level drawings with limited supervision - Create and maintain typical Electrical drawings: Single Line Diagrams, Power Panel Schedules, Power Plans, Lighting Plans, Motor Control elementaries, Cable Schedules, etc. - Create and modify instrument loop diagrams - Create and modify control system schematics (120VAC, 24VDC...) - Rudimentary control panel design and specification of components - Provide instrumentation input on P&IDs - Control system platforms used on site: Foxboro IA, Allen Bradley PLCs (PLC-5, ControlLogix), Siemens S7 - Identify cost-effective solutions to design problems - Plan assigned work effectively and liaise with the project team and line manager Qualifications What Makes You Remarkable? Expected: - 5-10 years of related engineering design experience in electrical and instrumentation design - Typically, 5+ years of relevant design experience in oil and gas, industrial construction, or power generation industries - Functional knowledge of National Electrical Code - Experience with basic power, lighting and grounding design - Motor elementary design experience - VFD elementary and controls design experience - AutoCAD experience is required - Microstation experience is a plus
