Full Job Description
We are looking for an Instrument/Analyzer to support our Commerce City Refinery. In this role, you will support process operations, maintenance, and engineering by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing process control system equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An Associate's Degree in the Instrument and Controls field OR Successful completion of a formal program in the field of Process Instrumentation through military service or crafts apprenticeship program with 5 years of recent practical experience in maintenance of industrial instrumentation and controls equipment (calibration of smart transmitters, PLC, DCS, AMS, rebuild control valves, etc)


  • Current ISA (Formerly: Instrument Society of America) CCST Certification Level I (or equivalent) and 5 years of recent practical experience in maintenance of industrial instrumentation and controls equipment (calibration of smart transmitters, PLC, DCS, AMS, rebuild control valves, etc)


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain online analytical instrumentation through preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Perform the routine checks and maintenance required to ensure equipment functionality and reliability
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of all analytical equipment calibrations in accordance with site quality procedures and documentation best practices
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues that impair proper functionality of analytical systems
  • Provide the required support needed to resolve non-scheduled priority jobs during normal and after hours
  • Assist with updating and creating equipment specification sheets, CEMS equipment files, checklist and procedures
  • Responds to work orders, overtime situations, and the needs of the refinery.
  • Look for opportunities to improve reliability


Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5801 Brighton Blvd.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, 5x8 hour shifts Monday through Friday OR 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Thursday, depending on business needs
  • Paid overtime, often 100-600+ hours per year based on plant needs
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
  • This position is safety sensitive

Hourly Rate and Compensation Details:
  • This is a union represented position under USW 12-477
  • $55.16 per hour with annual increases
